Vowyage (in hebrew - ניסועין) is my final project of my visual communications studies at HIT.
A short motion/animation film about the journey of long distance.
In this project I wanted to tell the story and experience of what it's like to be in a relationship of this type, from my own experience.

The journey of long distance.
Navigating two extremes - being together and being alone.
This project navigates through 2 distinct worlds. one for each.
One is grounded in its roots, sweetness, warmth. and one is vast, dark and cold.

Firstly, I wrote down the script. Trying to think about which of my authentic experiences can bring out the most emotions possible. once I was happy with it, I moved on to figma and started sketching out the rough style frames and made an animatic from them.

I also kept trying to experiment with different color variations. A struggle to try and find a balance in a world where I can easily fall into the obvious Boy & Girl themes, or Too Colorful and Too Sweet.

In the end, I landed on a color palette that unified my idea of a cold, lonely world vs a vibrant and etherial/magical/heavenly world.
